Where things stand today
StudyScriptor is currently in free beta. No paid checkout is active yet, so there is nothing to cancel or refund today. This is the proposed policy that will apply when paid subscriptions launch, and it may be refined before the first live checkout is enabled.
A fair first-plan refund
If you purchase your first StudyScriptor subscription and it is not a good fit, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the first paid charge, provided that no more than five paid lesson creates have been used on that account. This first-plan refund is available once per person or organisation. It is designed to let people genuinely test the service while preventing a paid plan from being used as a one-off bulk-generation pass.
Cancel any time
Once subscriptions are live, you will be able to cancel future renewals through the billing method provided at checkout or by contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access normally continues through the end of the already-paid billing period. We do not plan to offer pro-rated refunds for an unused part of a billing period after cancellation, except where required by law or where we agree that a material service failure warrants one.
When we will make it right
Please contact us promptly if you were charged twice, did not authorise a charge, experienced a persistent technical failure that prevented the paid feature from being used, or received an incorrect plan entitlement. We will investigate in good faith and may repair the issue, extend access, issue a partial refund, or issue a full refund as appropriate.
What usually is not refundable
Outside the first-plan window above, we generally will not refund a renewal merely because a person did not use the service, changed plans late in a billing period, or found that a generated lesson required editing. AI-assisted materials always need human review; that is a core part of the product rather than a defect. This does not limit any non-waivable consumer right that applies to you.
Payment processing
When checkout launches, purchases will be completed through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for those transactions. Lemon Squeezy may process a refund through its system and can take its own action to prevent chargebacks. If a refund is approved, the time it takes to appear depends on the payment method and financial institution.
Creator partners and special arrangements
Creator-partner access, promotional arrangements, sponsorships, or custom institutional terms may have different cancellation or refund rules stated in the relevant written agreement. Where that agreement conflicts with this page, the specific written agreement controls.
Ask before disputing
For a billing or refund question, email studyscriptor@kssr.press with the purchase email, approximate charge date, and a short description of the issue. Please contact us before opening a payment dispute whenever it is safe and reasonable to do so; many ordinary billing problems can be resolved much faster that way.
