StudyScriptor is a KSSR project.

01

The short version

StudyScriptor is made for teachers, tutors, creators, and serious independent learners. We use the material you submit to provide the lesson-making service you asked for. We do not sell your lesson materials or use them for behavioural advertising. Please do not submit confidential student records, sensitive personal information, or material you do not have the right to use.

02

Who is responsible

StudyScriptor is operated by K.Jung School of Standardised Review (KSSR). In this notice, “we”, “us”, and “StudyScriptor” refer to the people operating this service. For any privacy question or request, contact studyscriptor@kssr.press.

03

Information we may handle

Depending on how you use the service, this can include:

  • Account information: an email address, display name, and sign-in identifier. If you create a StudyScriptor password, we store a one-way password hash rather than the password itself, plus hashed, expiring verification or reset tokens and a secure session token needed to keep you signed in.
  • Lesson material: captions or transcript text; source title and URL; lesson settings; and the generated transcript, worksheet, questions, vocabulary, quiz, and answer key.
  • Recording material: audio or video files submitted for transcription, including media temporarily retrieved from a public link you provide. We do not intentionally add the raw uploaded or retrieved file to a saved lesson record.
  • Usage, conversion, and safety information: creation allowances, rate-limit data, model and token or duration measurements, timestamps, page paths, a random first-party browser identifier, referral or campaign information, and a salted, shortened network-derived identifier used to protect the free service from abuse. First-party analytics record page views and product milestones such as visiting, creating a first lesson, seeing an upgrade, beginning checkout, and subscribing; they do not contain submitted transcripts, generated worksheets, or student information.
  • Partner application information: contact details, public channel information, audience details, and the material you choose to include in an application.
04

Why we use it

We use this information to create and display lessons, retrieve and transcribe recording media when requested, save or publish a lesson when you explicitly choose to do so, operate accounts and creation allowances, respond to support, prevent abuse, understand service cost, reliability, and the path from first visit to subscription, and meet legal or accounting obligations when applicable.

05

When information leaves StudyScriptor

We use service providers to operate the product. The relevant providers may process information only as needed for the feature you invoke:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, delivery, and the application database.
  • OpenAI: text generation and, when you choose it, audio/video transcription.
  • PayPal: current payment checkout and subscription administration.
  • Resend: delivery of account verification and password-reset emails.
  • Lemon Squeezy: payment checkout and subscription administration if its checkout is enabled later. Lemon Squeezy would be the merchant of record for purchases completed through its checkout.

Features such as Google Classroom, Google Docs, website embeds, or an original source link may take you to services you choose to use. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect the service, people, or rights involved.

06

Saved and public lessons

A lesson is not intentionally stored as a saved lesson record unless a signed-in user chooses a save or publish action. Private lessons are meant for the account that saved them. When you publish a student lesson, its title, source details, transcript material, and student-facing activity content can be viewed, shared, embedded, and indexed publicly. Do not publish a lesson unless you have the right to make that material public.

07

Retention and deletion

We retain account data, saved lesson records, and limited operational records for as long as reasonably needed to run, secure, support, and improve the service, or to meet legal obligations. During beta, email studyscriptor@kssr.press to request access to, correction of, or deletion of stored account or lesson data. We may need to keep a limited record where necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, or law.

08

Your choices and rights

Privacy law may give you rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, and to complain to the relevant privacy authority. You may also withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. Contact us first so we can understand and respond to your request; we may ask for reasonable verification before acting on it.

09

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect service data, but no internet service can promise absolute security. We may update this notice as the product, its sign-in system, payment setup, or data practices develop. Material changes will be reflected by a new date here.
